Have Questions? We've Got Answers!
Everything you need to know about your visit, our services, and what to expect.
Why are my gums bleeding when I brush?
Bleeding gums are often an early sign of gum disease, which can develop when plaque and bacteria build up along the gumline. Other causes may include brushing too aggressively, flossing inconsistently, hormonal changes, or certain medical conditions. If your gums bleed regularly when brushing or flossing, it’s important to schedule a dental examination. Early treatment can help prevent gum disease from progressing and protect your long-term oral health.
What should I bring to my first dental appointment?
Please bring a valid ID, your insurance card if you have one, and a list of any medications you're currently taking. If you have recent X-rays from another dentist, feel free to bring those too.
What should I expect during my first dental visit?
Most first dental visits take approximately 60 to 90 minutes, depending on your oral health needs and whether X-rays are required. During your appointment, we’ll review your dental history, perform a comprehensive examination, discuss any concerns you may have, and create a personalized treatment plan if needed. Our goal is to ensure you feel informed, comfortable, and confident about your dental care.
Do you accept dental insurance?
We work with many major PPO dental insurance plans and are happy to help you understand your coverage before your visit. Our team can verify your benefits, explain any out-of-pocket costs, and answer questions about maximizing your insurance benefits. If you’re unsure whether your plan is accepted, simply contact our office and we’ll be glad to assist you.
What are the signs I need to see a dentist?
Common signs that it’s time to visit a dentist include tooth pain, bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, tooth sensitivity, loose teeth, jaw discomfort, swelling, or visible changes in your teeth and gums. Even if you aren’t experiencing symptoms, routine dental exams and cleanings are essential for preventing problems and maintaining long-term oral health.
