We provide immediate care for severe tooth pain, injuries, infections, and other urgent dental problems.

Emergency Dental Care Explained

Emergency dental care addresses urgent oral health problems that need immediate attention. This includes severe tooth pain, facial swelling from infections, chipped or knocked-out teeth, and injuries to your mouth or jaw. These situations can worsen quickly without prompt treatment, potentially leading to more serious complications or permanent damage to your teeth and gums.

At Pearl Palm Beach Dental, we use digital X-rays and thorough evaluations to quickly diagnose the problem and create an effective treatment plan. Our goal is to relieve your pain, preserve your natural teeth whenever possible, and prevent the issue from getting worse. We focus on stopping infections, reducing swelling, and protecting your overall oral health.

Types of Dental Emergencies We Treat

Dental emergencies can happen anytime and often cause significant pain or distress. Pearl Palm Beach Dental treats a wide range of urgent dental situations promptly.

  • Severe Toothache

A severe toothache creates intense, throbbing pain that makes it hard to eat, sleep, or concentrate. This usually signals infection or deep decay reaching your tooth's nerve. We can diagnose the cause and provide immediate relief.

  • Knocked-Out Tooth

When a tooth gets completely knocked out from trauma or injury, quick action is essential. You may feel shock and see bleeding from the empty socket.

  • Dental Abscess

A dental abscess creates a painful, swollen bump on your gums filled with pus. You might taste something bitter or feel facial swelling. These infections can spread quickly, so we treat them as urgent medical situations.

  • Cracked Tooth

A broken tooth can be painful and sensitive to temperature. If left untreated, it can lead to infection or further damage. We repair the tooth using strong materials that restore comfort and natural function.

  • Lost Dental Crowns

When a dental crown comes loose, the tooth underneath is left unprotected and sensitive. We clean the area and replace your restoration to seal and strengthen the tooth, keeping your smile pain-free.

  • Soft Tissue Injuries

Cuts or injuries to your gums, tongue, or lips can bleed and feel sore. We gently clean and treat the wound, stop the bleeding, and make sure there is no hidden damage so you can heal comfortably and quickly.

We have moved recently and needed a new dentist. This is actually a happy place. The female staff is outstanding. All the equipment is first class up to date. I couldn’t have asked for a better introductory experience. Our next appointment is already set. Would definitely recommend.

Was my first time here, and it was a fantastic dental experience. Dr. Civetti and her assistant Kelly are amazing. Dr. Civetti is not rushed, and takes time to explain everything. And she has a focus on overall health beyond the teeth and gums. I was also impressed with the investment she has made in the latest dental technologies.

Wonderful office. Dr. Civetti and staff treat you so warmly—just like family every-time. I have been going to this office for years and am always happy. Professional, competent, and caring.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Call us first thing in the morning. We see emergency patients Monday through Thursday starting at 7:00 AM. In the meantime, ibuprofen can take the edge off, and a cold pack on your cheek in 10-minute intervals helps with swelling. Do not put heat on it.

  • Yes, come in. A jagged edge can lacerate soft tissue and the underlying crack may be deeper than it looks. Call us and we will get you seen the same day.

  • Call us so we can assess it. If there is no pain and the tooth is intact, it may not be urgent, but you should not leave it uncovered for long. If there is sensitivity or discomfort, treat it as urgent and come in the same day.

  • Not necessarily, but you need to act fast. Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root. Rinse it gently and try to place it back in the socket. If you can't, keep it in milk or between your cheek and gum. The sooner you get in, the better the chances.

  • If the swelling is affecting your ability to breathe or swallow, go to the ER right away. If it is localized swelling with tooth pain, it is likely a dental infection and we need to see you today. Do not wait on a swollen jaw.
