Justin's Lingering Concern
Justin had always prided himself on his meticulous routine. Every morning and night, two minutes of brushing, followed by flossing – or so he thought. Lately, a subtle but persistent issue had started bothering him: his gums would bleed when he brushed. It wasn't a gush, more like a faint pink swirl in the sink, but it was enough to plant a seed of worry in his mind. He initially dismissed it, thinking maybe he was brushing too hard, or perhaps it was just a temporary thing.
He remembered an old saying, "Out of sight, out of mind," but this wasn't really out of sight. Every time he looked in the mirror after brushing, there was that little trace of blood, a quiet alarm bell. He wondered if others noticed it too, even though he knew it was unlikely. The thought of something being wrong lingered, a low hum beneath the surface of his otherwise busy life.
His wife, Sydney, had noticed his slight hesitations and asked if everything was alright. "Just my gums," he'd mumbled, trying to wave it off. But Sydney, with her typical keen observation, gently suggested he might want to get it checked out. "It's better to know, right?" she’d said, and that simple truth finally pushed Justin towards making an appointment.
