Amanda's Lingering Doubts About Dental Visits
Amanda hadn't been to the dentist in what felt like ages, certainly longer than she cared to admit. A nagging sense of guilt always accompanied the thought of rescheduling, but life just kept getting in the way. Work, family, and the everyday hustle made it seem impossible to carve out time for something that, in her mind, wasn't an immediate emergency.
She remembered her last cleaning vividly – not because it was pleasant, but because of the mild discomfort and the stern lecture she felt she received about flossing. It really put her off. This avoidance, however, had led to a new problem: occasional sensitivity when she drank cold water and a persistent, dull ache in one of her molars.
Doubt began to creep in. Was she doing more harm than good by delaying? She wondered if her teeth were beyond simple cleaning now, becoming a much bigger problem than they needed to be. The internet only offered conflicting advice and scary stories, making her feel even more overwhelmed and stressed about booking an appointment.
